Wow, was this week HARD! Creating a character that is consistent through different poses and has believable and relatable expressions! Not to mention the scene they are in and all the other characters in the story. I have a huge new respect for children’s book illustrators and although I would still love to work on a project like that one day, it would not come without serious levels of stress!
Our story to base our illustration this week was an Aesop fable – The Fox and The Crow. A very sweet short story, that really packs a lot of possibilities in when it comes to characters.
Here is my take on it, which unfortunately didn’t warrant a review by Lilla Rogers, however I am happy with it all the same.
Our next challenge (as I am now liking to call them) is creating a piece of wall art. Going to be a tricky one, considering we are still Easter Holidaying in Sydney and flying back to Hong Kong all day Saturday. I will do my best though.
